Onyx is an exotic stone and forms in numerous colors like red, yellow, brown, green and the most famous, black. Onyx is easily identified by its bands of alternating colors from the intergrowths of the quartz and moganite. Onyx is also translucent, which allows for more unique applications. Onyx is predominately used as a statement piece, light accent or as a backsplash in bathrooms and kitchens.
