Last week we had the opportunity to exhibit our unique surfaces from all around the world in a booth at the Westedge Design Fair at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA. Westedge Design Fair is known as the west coast’s premier, modern, design exhibition where attendees have the opportunity to view products from top notch design brands. These include the following categories: indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting and shade features, kitchen and bath, and more.

Westedge Design Fair  Located near the entry of the show, our natural-stone-lined booth caught the eye of visitors as soon as they stepped in the doors. In our booth, we showcased over 20 different natural stone slabs by lining both inside and outside of the booth with striking slabs and bookmatched displays so that visitors could see what type of patterns the stones can make when placed together consecutively. Materials such as Cristallo Tiffany, Cristallo Venato and Moulin Rouge quartzites made their debut to the California market at this show. The finishing touch to our booth was provided by our partner, Emser Tile. They sponsored our flooring with their HD award winning material from their Borigni collection.

In order to give our attendees to the booth the best experience, we brought in keynote speakers to present on various topics and educate them on aspects of the natural stone industry. Katia and Agatha from Antolini Italy educated on organic stone textures and Antolini’s newest technological game-changer: Azerocare. This revolutionary new technology gives polished marble and onyx 100% protection from etching and staining-the two top concerns for those who are looking to buy marble. These Antolini representatives even gave a hands-on demonstration to show how acidic juices will not etch or stain the Azerocare treated material. Renata, a marketing representative from a quarry in Brazil, also gave a presentation with visuals and information on the process of how the stone comes from the quarry to your home.

In addition to natural stone, the show also showcased beautiful art and design ideas. We had the pleasure of visiting Anoma’s booth which is a natural surfaces, sculptures and installations brand who uses natural stone as an architectural element. Sherwin Williams Paint Store also exhibited their products in an eye-catching booth. They displayed swatches of paint in a grid-like design (pictured below) where you could easily view their most popular colors. As a natural stone distributor, we like to correlate paint colors with our stones and imagine how they would complement each other in a finished application.
